Block Champ Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Block Champ mobile app ("Block Champ", "the app"), published by Zero to One ("we", "us"). Other Zero to One apps have their own privacy policies.
The short version
- No sign-up. The app creates an anonymous account for you so your scores can appear on leaderboards. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Ranked runs are sent to our server so they can be verified and ranked. Classic games stay on your device.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects device and usage data to show and measure those ads. On iPhone, ads are only personalised if you allow tracking; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent first.
- Block Champ Pro is an optional subscription sold through Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
- You can delete your account and all its server data at any time inside the app.
- No analytics SDKs, no contacts, no location permission, and we never sell your data.
1. Your account
When you first open Block Champ, the app creates an anonymous account on our server (hosted by Supabase) identified by a random ID. It carries no name, email address, phone number or password. It exists so that your ranked scores can be stored, ranked and shown on leaderboards. The account is tied to the app installation on your device; uninstalling the app or deleting the account ends it.
Your account holds:
- A display name you can choose (one is generated for you, such as "Champ-A7K2Q9"). It is shown publicly on leaderboards, so pick something you are happy for others to see. Names are checked against a list of offensive words and can be reported by other players.
- A friend code, so people you share it with can see you on their Friends board.
- Your country (two-letter code), taken from your phone's region setting, used only for the country leaderboard.
- Your ranked results: for every ranked run, the day, the score, the sequence of moves, how long the run took, and the resulting ranks and league placements.
- Whether you subscribe to Block Champ Pro and until when (see section 4).
- Your push notification token, only if you allow notifications (see section 5).
2. Data stored on your device
The app keeps the following on your device only:
- Classic mode scores and statistics, saved games in progress, streaks, and whether you have seen the tutorial.
- Your settings: haptics, sound, and the daily reminder and its time.
- Whether you own Block Champ Pro (this is re-checked with the App Store or Google Play each time the app starts).
- An encrypted copy of your session so you stay signed in to your anonymous account.
You can erase the local game data at any time in Settings → Reset local progress. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on the device.
3. Leaderboards and ranked runs
Ranked runs are what make Block Champ competitive, and they are the only game data that leaves your device. When you finish a ranked run, the app sends the sequence of moves to our server, which replays it with the same rules the app uses to confirm the score, then records it. This is how we keep the boards fair. The server also stores how long the run took, which it uses to reject runs that are impossibly fast.
Leaderboards show your display name, your score, your country code (on the country board), a star if you are a Pro subscriber, and your rank, to every player of the app. Your moves and run times are never shown to other players. Weekly leagues group you with up to thirty players of a similar level.
If you allow notifications, the server may send you a push notification when another player passes your score on the day's board (at most one such notification per day).
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Block Champ shows ads: banners on menu screens, full-screen ads after some Classic games, and optional video ads you can choose to watch to revive a Classic game or earn one more ranked attempt. These ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, the AdMob software in the app collects and sends to Google:
| Data | Details |
|---|---|
| Device identifiers | The advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, only if you allow tracking; the Android advertising ID on Android), and an app-specific identifier used when the advertising identifier is not available |
| Device and network information | IP address, device model, operating system and version, language, and approximate location derived from the IP address |
| Ad interactions | Which ads were shown, whether you tapped them, whether a video was watched to the end |
| Diagnostics | Technical logs about ad loading and performance |
Google uses this data as described inHow Google uses information from sites or apps that use its servicesand the Google Privacy Policy. We only see aggregated reports from Google (such as how many ads were shown), never data about you personally.
Your ad choices
- iPhone: the app asks whether you allow tracking. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", Google does not receive your advertising identifier and ads are not personalised using data from other companies' apps and websites. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ads are requested, the app shows Google's consent form so you can choose whether your data may be used for personalised ads. You can change your choice later in the app under Settings → Privacy options. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by device).
- Block Champ Pro: subscribers see no banners and no full-screen ads. Optional reward videos stay available, and they only play when you choose to watch one.
Ads in Block Champ are limited to content suitable for teenagers and older (Google's "T" rating).
5. Purchases
Block Champ Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store orGoogle Play. The store handles the payment and your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never receive them. To confirm that your subscription is active, the app sends the store's transaction identifier or purchase token to our server, which checks it with Apple or Google and records the product, its status and its expiry date against your account. This is what lets the server allow unlimited ranked attempts.
6. Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder in Settings and allow notifications, the app schedules local notifications on your device: one a day when a new board is live, and an evening nudge when your streak is at risk. With that same permission, the app also registers a push notification token with our server so it can tell you when someone passes your score. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your phone's settings at any time; the token is deleted with your account.
7. Sharing your results
When you tap Share after a run, the app creates an image or text of your result on your device and opens your phone's share sheet. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you pick an app or person to share it with.
8. Where your data is stored and who can see it
Server data is stored with Supabase, our hosting provider, in a data centre in the European Union. Only Zero to One and Supabase (as our processor) have access to it, and we use it only to run the game: verifying runs, building leaderboards and leagues, checking subscriptions and sending the notifications described above. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
9. Deleting your account and your rights
To delete your account: open Block Champ, go to Settings → Delete account and confirm. This immediately and permanently deletes your account on our server: your display name, friend code, country, ranked runs, scores, ranks, league placements, friends, push token and purchase records. Your leaderboard entries disappear with it. An active subscription is not cancelled by deleting the account; cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings. If you cannot access the app, seehow to delete your Block Champ account.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Where the GDPR applies, we process your account and run data to provide the game you asked for (performance of a contract), personalised advertising is based on your consent, and non-personalised advertising and fraud prevention on our legitimate interest in funding and protecting a free game. For data collected by Google for advertising, use the choices in section 4 or Google's tools at My Ad Center. We do not sell or share your personal information for money. If you have a question or request, email us and we will reply within 30 days.
10. Children
Block Champ is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child's data has been collected through the app, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, for example if we start collecting a new kind of data, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
